An Extraction based approach to Keyword generation and Precedence Retrieval 🔗

• Automated the process of extracting keywords from a set of legal documents.
• Ranked all the cases with respect to similarity with the query case.
• The approach for both these tasks has been selected for FIRE - 2017 (Forum for Information Retrieval and Evaluation) and the working methodology (currently under review phase) has been published in their conference proceedings. Link to the paper

Implemented associate rule mining using FP - growth algorithm. 🔗

Using the data many rules were infered which gave an insight into the root causes for diabetes. Equal width, equal frequency, splitting on the basis of domain knowledge were the various techniques which were employed to preprocess the data. FP - growth algorithm was then employed to infer rules based on the support and confidence thresholds.

Implementation of ID3 decision trees, Random Forest and AdaBoosting techniques 🔗

Implemented using Java. The aim was to learn from the given data and test it on the given test data. An ID3 tree is built on the given data and predictions are made accordingly for the given test data. To improve the accuracy techniques like Random Forest and AdaBoosting were used. The overall accuracy achieved on the test data was 85%. Accuracy and total time of execution times of all the techniques are also compared.

• The portal is used by all the students of campus and the administration. It maintains a database of personal details of all students on campus.
• The portal facilitates scholarship applications, mess registrations, purchases using mess balance, document generation etc.
